Las Vegas: Float Trip vs. White Water Rafting
River float trips and white water rafting are two very different types of experiences. One is designated for adrenaline junkies while the other is for those who enjoy a calmer, more relaxing cruise down the waterway. No matter your preference, you can’t go wrong with a Black Canyon River Adventures tour along the Colorado River near Las Vegas.
Here’s what to expect on a float trip vs. white water rafting.
Float trip
During a float trip, you’ll have the pleasure of boarding a motor-assisted inflatable raft, where all of the hard work is done for you. This means you won’t have to strain your back by rowing for hours on end. With this luxury, you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the Black Canyon views, which by the way, are spectacular. You may even catch a glimpse of some wildlife on the cliffs or soaring through the sky.
Basic details of a float trip:
Activity level: Low. You won’t need to exert much energy on a smooth water raft expedition. Besides the short walk from the bus to the loading and unloading site, you can expect an easy-going adventure suitable for a wide range of ages.
Age: No limit. Although, keep in mind you will be in direct sunlight for most of the trip. Give us a call at 800-455-3490 with any concerns.
Cost: Around $114 per person.
Duration: About 3 hours on the water (on our Black Canyon Raft Tour).
Lunch provided: Yes.
White Water Rafting
If you love the feeling you get when you ride a roller coaster, then you might have to add a white water rafting trip along with a float trip to your Las Vegas agenda. It does require a bit of strenuous activity and jolting around though, so be prepared and make sure you and your company are capable of such activity.
Basic details of a white water rafting trip:
Activity level: Moderate to strenuous. It’s important that you are in good health and can handle a moderate work out.
Age: 8 and up.
Cost: Around $500 per person.
Duration: Approximately 15 hours.
Lunch provided: Yes.
